Because of you Over the past five years, Christ’s College has benefitted enormously from the philanthropic generosity of our community. Our largest fundraising effort during this time was the campaign to build Upper West, our sports centre. It was truly a labour of love. The original vision was to construct the facility on the former Christchurch Girls’ High School site. However, through extensive engagement with the community, the project evolved into the beautiful facility we see today, built on our campus. It provides our boys with state-of-the-art sporting facilities and a home for the Physical Education Department. After Upper West opened, we returned to the community to seek support to restore our much-loved playing field, Upper – or, as some of our more senior Old Boys fondly call it, ‘the Hallowed Ground’. Then, in 2023, our appeal focused on building and opening the College Museum – a glorious space filled with the history of the school and stories about the boys who have attended. None of these projects would have been possible without the generosity and commitment of our College community. Thank you.
