Philanthropy Report 2025

Annual Appeal 2025 Each year, our Christ’s College community comes together with a shared purpose – to ensure that opportunity is defined by potential, not circumstance. In recent years, together we have resurfaced our much- loved Upper playing field, built a new museum, and, in 2025, raised more than $400,000 for scholarships. Those funds are transforming lives, and we see that impact firsthand. Our 2025 Head Prefect, Ihaka Cate, was a scholarship recipient. Growing up in Linwood, he once described arriving at College as “entering a castle – a place I never imagined I would be”. He embraced every opportunity – academically, culturally, and in leadership – ultimately serving as Head Prefect and becoming a role model for younger boys walking a similar path. He was not alone. Harrison Laing, our 2025 Head of Boarding, also benefitted from a Headmaster’s Scholarship during his time at College. Harrison was an inspiring leader to the younger boys, and often went above and beyond in his role, supporting the new boarders and ensuring that he was available when they needed to talk to someone. Scholarships change trajectories – not just for individual boys, but for families and future generations. As our Board Chair, Jeremy Johnson, reflects: “Supporting scholarships continues one of College’s original purposes: that any boy talented enough should have the opportunity to attend.” Our goal is simple – to ensure many more boys like Ihaka and Harrison have that same opportunity in the years ahead. To those who supported the 2025 Annual Appeal, thank you. Your generosity has given a young boy who may never have imagined himself here the lifelong gift of an outstanding education.

Potential begins with you. Help us build a boy’s future.
