(continued from page 15) them than such temporary frivol ity? How do you make a man un derstand who has never seriously considered before that fornication is sin? How do you explain that there is more reason to life than mere survival of the fittest; that some people are happy without living for the beach, booze and sex? How can you tell them that to know Christ as Saviour and Master fulfills that inner desire for real joy and peace? I know one thing: you can’t reach these men in the ivory towers of the church. We must be where they are. “ Chaplain, I realize that my goals have been selfish and I want to turn my life over to God.” It doesn’t take me long to real ize how serious this is for I see tears coming to his eyes. The Spirit of God by some means has taken something I have said and is using it to lead this man to a decision. Could it be that those brief comments in today’s sermon may have helped? Perhaps it has been the daily suggestion of Di vine sovereignty at the evening prayers that are haunting him. No matter what, this man is ready to talk to his Lord and so I suggest that we bow in prayer. There is silence, a reverent si lence. He does not pray out loud, but I sense his experience with the Lord. The Chaplain cannot but rededicate his own life as he sees the fruit of his limited labor.
