student must appeal for an RD grade before the end of the semester. Such a grade incurred in one semester must be made up by the end of the first nine (9) weeks of the next semester or the grade will automatically become an F. An F can be made up only by repetition of the course . A student may only be allowed a combination of two F' s and/ or two C' s; a third C and/or F brings automatic elimination from the program. No grade other than an RD may be altered once it has been reported to the Registrar unless an error was made in grading or recording. These changes can only be made upon written approval of the instructor, the Registrar, and the Com­ mittee on Admissions and Academic Qualifications. The following grades are also used in Rosemead records with special significance for the professional aspects of Rosemead's programs: S Satisfactory (for practicum only) 0.00 points AUD Audit 0.00 points R Dissertation Research in Progress 0.00 points IP Internship in Progress 0.00 points REGISTRATION All students are to register during Rosemead' s scheduled registration days. Late registration will continue through Wednesday of the second week (8th day) of clas­ ses (i.e., Wednesday, September 28, or Wednesday, February 15) . A late registra­ tion fee of $20 will be charged those who fail to register during the scheduled regis­ tration days. Registration is not complete until satisfactory financial arrangements have been made. Students will receive credit for only those courses in which they are officially enrolled. Registration is mandatory for students in all phases of the program, including students in internship and those who have completed all re­ quirements except the dissertation . CREDIT BY EXAMINATION AND COURSE VALIDATION No graduate credit will be given by examination or validation. Students who pos­ sess an excellent but non-transcripted background in an area of study may, with the permission of the advisor and Registrar, validate by examination to receive a waiver for a required course, however, no unit credit is given for such validation. Successful validation would allow the student to take additional equivalent elective hours in the program. No degree will be given without a student's completion of All course and academic requirements must be completed within four years for the M.A. degree, and within eight years for the Psy.D. and Ph.D. degrees, begin­ ning on the date of the student's first registration for graduate study at Rosemead. THE INTERMEDIATE MASTERS DEGREE All students entering doctoral programs, regardless of previous graduate study, will take the Rosemead intermediate Master of Arts degree. The same requirements regarding transfer credit will apply in all cases to every student regardless of previ­ ous graduate study or degrees (see under Degree Requirements) . the full number of units required for the degree .
