INDUSTRY UPDATES Higher Ed: Colleges Teach Cannabis Curriculums taught at 5 Colorado universities Several Colorado universities are expanding offerings of cannabis-centric courses. The University of Denver, University of Colora- do Boulder, Metropolitan State University of Denver, CSU-Pueblo, and Community Col- lege of Denver are all offering cannabis law, science and business courses among a roster of classes aimed at preparing students for ca- reers in a growing number of fields.

Office Opens To Assist Entrepeneurs Will support those affected by war on drugs A new program will provide opportunities in the cannabis industry to disadvantaged communities.The Cannabis Business Office looks to provide access to investment capital and technical assistance to low-income res- idents, those living in disadvantaged areas, and those who've been, or have had family members arrested for a marijuana offense.

Aurora Axes Cannabis TourismPlan City council's hospitality plan narrowly fails The Aurora City Council narrowly voted down a cannabis hospitality measure to allow for consumption in lounges and on bus tours. The 5-4 vote means the mea- sure can be reintroduced following the November election, rather than the six- month waiting period that would have been required had the vote tied.

CDPHE Delays Hemp Testing Rules Requirements set to start in October postponed Enhanced testing requirements for hemp in Colorado have been delayed until next year. In accordance with regulations enacted ear- lier this year, hemp grown in the state would be subject to testing for pesticides, heavy metals and solvents used in cannabinoid extraction. The requirements were original- ly set to take effect in October.
