Christmas at Fort Hunter When: Weekends beginning Nov. 24 Where: For Hunter Park, 5300 N. Front St., Harrisburg Admission: Varies by event Kick off the most wonderful time of the year at Fort Hunter. The Festival of Trees and the toy train exhibit kick off this nearly month-long event at Fort Hunter. Throughout the celebration, attendees can choose from a variety of merry events, including mansion tours, holiday shops, Victorian tea, candy demonstrations, music performances, twinkling light displays, and craft sales. River City Big Band When: Monday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. Where: River City Blues Club & Dart Room, 819 S. Cameron St., Harrisburg Admission: $10 Don’t miss this toe-tapping, swinging good time and performance by the River City Big Band. Known for weekly performances across Pennsylvania and rhythmic stylings, River City Big Band will keep you and your sweetheart dancing all night long. Pennsylvania Gun Deer Season When: Begins Nov. 30 Where: Public and private woodlands across Pennsylvania Admission: Varies by the cost of specific hunter’s license Load up your blaze orange and prepare for deer camp. The Pennsylvania gun hunting deer season is set to open on a Saturday for the first time this year, giving hunters 13 days and three Saturdays to bag that prize buck. Hunters should follow safety and quota rules while hunting in our woodlands, and you can learn more about the regulations for Dauphin County on the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s (PGC) website at PGC.PA.gov. PGC will also have information on additional deer and other game seasons. Stay safe, and good luck this season!
