SCTE BALKANS
These efforts are reinforced by IPKO’s advanced ICT solutions portfolio, developed in collaboration with leading global partners. This includes DNS- level protection services, enterprise cybersecurity offerings, and the ongoing development of Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities, enabling real-time threat detection, prevention and response for business clients. Beyond Connectivity: Society, Culture, and Inclusion At the same time, our role extends beyond technology into broader societal impact. We place strong emphasis on giving back to society, promoting inclusion and supporting initiatives that strengthen cultural identity and shared values. IPKO has consistently supported Kosovo’s cultural ecosystem through long-term partnerships with major events such as Sunny Hill Festival, DokuFest, PriFest and the Theater Festival, among many others, helping elevate local creativity, empower emerging talent and position Kosovo on the international cultural map. In parallel, we play an active role in supporting sports and community engagement across the country. Through partnerships with various sports clubs and initiatives, including strong support for women’s sports, we contribute to promoting inclusion, equal opportunities and healthy lifestyles. Beyond cultural and
In a rapidly evolving telecoms landscape, IPKO has emerged as a key driver of digital transformation in Kosovo: a fast-growing and dynamic market. Its growth story is closely tied to the country’s own digital progress, built on a clear strategic choice to compete on quality, innovation, and customer trust, rather than price alone. IPKO’s journey is also shaped by the unique context in which Kosovo rebuilt its telecom infrastructure. In the aftermath of 1999, following a period of significant destruction, Kosovo had a unique opportunity to rebuild its telecoms infrastructure from the ground up, without the constraints of legacy systems. This advantage allowed us to design modern, scalable infrastructure aligned with future demand from the outset. Building on this foundation, over the years we have consistently invested in modern network infrastructure, expanded our mobile and fixed services, and accelerated the rollout of 5G. This sustained focus has enabled IPKO to establish a strong and reliable presence in the market, while building long-term trust with customers and remaining highly relevant in an increasingly digital society. Driving Transformation Through Technology Rather than being defined by a single turning point, IPKO’s trajectory has been
shaped by continuous transformation. A key phase occurred between 2023 and 2025, when demand for data and digital services grew rapidly across both consumer and business segments. In response, we accelerated our network modernisation programme, upgrading dozens of sites to 5G, improving 4G performance nationwide, and significantly increasing network capacity. This was not only about coverage, but also about performance. Enhanced throughput, lower latency and improved network efficiency have enabled us to support high-density usage, increased roaming demand, and a growing number of data-intensive applications. During this period, 5G traffic alone grew by more than 400%, reflecting both increased adoption and a shift toward a more data-driven digital lifestyle. This transformation is visible in everyday life. Our infrastructure supports remote work, digital education and high- quality entertainment services, enabling households and businesses to operate seamlessly in a connected environment. At the same time, we recognise that connectivity alone is no longer enough. As digital usage grows, so do risks, particularly in cybersecurity. Through initiatives such as the IPKO Cyber Security Conference, now a key regional platform, and the ongoing “Cyber Zone” awareness series, we have contributed to building a stronger cybersecurity culture.
