The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter CAMPUS REPORT
PRIMARY REPORT BONNIE LEE PRIMARY CAMPUS PRINCIPAL
As we move into Term 4, we welcome one of the most rewarding and exciting times of the school year. It is a Term filled with opportunities for students to consolidate their learning, celebrate achievements, showcase talents and prepare confidently for the next stage of their educational journey. As a SunSmart Term, we ask families to support students by ensuring hats are worn each day and that they come prepared for warmer weather. These sun-safe habits allow students to continue enjoying the many outdoor learning experiences and events that make Term 4 so memorable. Throughout the Term, students will participate in a rich range of learning opportunities within and beyond the classroom. Students in Years 5 and 6 will take centre stage during the Performing Arts Showcase, celebrating their creativity, confidence and dedication while sharing their talents with the wider school community. Students across the Campus will also enjoy a range of excursions, camps and special events. Highlights include the Year 3 and 4 Camp, Prep excursion to Bundoora Farm, Year 1 excursion to the Pevan and Sarah Concert, Year 3 IMAX excursion, Year 3 and 4 Soccer Gala Day and the Year 2 Sleepover. These experiences help build independence, resilience, teamwork and strong social connections. Numeracy will remain an important focus across the Campus, with students from Prep to Year 5 participating in a special mathematics incursion. Through hands-on and interactive experiences, students will build confidence and engagement while exploring mathematics as a creative, practical and enjoyable part of everyday life. Term 4 is also an important time of transition. We look forward to welcoming future students through the 2027 Prep Transition Program, while our Year 6 students will participate in a comprehensive Orientation Program to support their move into Secondary school. We will also celebrate their achievements at Year 6 Graduation, recognising their growth and contributions to the Primary Campus. As the year draws to a close, students will participate in Team Dream and our reimagined Night Under the Stars celebration. This year, the event will become a daytime experience across the Secondary Campus, giving Primary students the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding facilities while taking part in a range of engaging performances. It will also be a time for students to reflect on their learning, celebrate their growth and prepare confidently for their next year level. Looking ahead, our College will commence its upcoming Review Cycle, providing an opportunity to reflect on our achievements, celebrate progress and identify future priorities. Through collaboration with students, staff, families and the broader school community, we will continue to strengthen our practices and provide high-quality learning opportunities for every student. We thank our families for their continued partnership and support and look forward to an exciting and successful Term 4.
