2026 Disaster & Resilient City Exp Houston

Brad Sperling built U.S. Mobile Solutions around a simple belief: when a community loses the infrastructure it depends on, the answer should not be harder to access just because the need is urgent.

Brad learned disaster response from the road.

After leaving the military, he drove trucks and hauled trailers into disaster zones for other companies. At first, it was occasional work. Then roughly 80 percent of his loads became disaster- related.

“There’s always going to be a natural disaster,” he says.

What ultimately pushed him to start U.S. Mobile Solutions, though, was not opportunity alone. It was seeing how some companies treated people when they were most vulnerable. He remembers conference calls where disaster pricing would simply “go into effect” after a flood.

“You shouldn’t take advantage of somebody just because they had a flood.”

That stayed with him.
