2026 Disaster & Resilient City Exp Houston

“If there’s one fatality, it’s going to affect a lot more than one person. You have families, you have friends, you have co-workers, all those people that have to deal with that single disaster.”

For fleet managers, municipalities and disaster-response contractors, resilience is often discussed in terms of keeping equipment moving and services operating. King believes the person maintaining that equipment has to be part of the conversation too. “I want the industry to be as safe as it possibly can,” he says. Bedlock is already exploring additional products for dump trailers and other safety applications, and Harold believes the company has only reached a small portion of the potential market.

Still, he does not speak about the future in terms of market share.

“We have a lot of areas where we can help the industry become safer,” he says. “And basically, that’s what I’m out here for.”

His goal is not complicated.

“I want everybody to be able to do their work without looking over their shoulder, wondering if that bed’s going to start coming down.” For a product built from steel, chains and engineering, that may be the most human measure of whether it works.

The truck gets repaired, the fleet keeps moving and at the end of the day, the person underneath it goes home.

Protect the People Who Keep Your Fleet Moving Bedlock Safety Products provides tested dump-bed safety systems for municipal, commercial, towing, recycling, landscaping and heavy-duty fleet applications.
