Provincial and local officials talked about the confusing bureaucratic red tape hampering floodplain management for Alfred-Plantagenet Township during the recent ROMA conference. Les inondations de la rivière des Outaouais en 2017 et 2019 ont endommagé des propriétés riveraines publiques et privées dans le canton d’Alfred-Plantagenet, mais la reconstruction des routes et autres infrastructures endommagées par la crue a été entravée par un accord spécial entre les gouvernements du Québec et de l’Ontario touchant certaines parties des rives de la rivière des Outaouais. The bureaucratic situation surrounding UIF$BSJMMPO-BOETQPSUJPOPGUIF0UUBXB3JWFS shoreline created delays and uncertainty for the township and private landholders with efforts to repair and rebuild shoreline infrastructure on both municipal and private property following the floods. Thompson, Sarrazin and Coleman talked about ways to improve the development approvals process for the Carillon Land area to avoid future difficulties with rebuilding efforts should flooding happen again in the future.
