MONITOR TUNNEL BEHAVIOUR THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT LIFECYCLE

WIRELESS MONITORING FOR DEMANDING UNDERGROUND ENVIRONMENTS

Tunnel construction or repair works can lead to changes in the behaviour of the tunnel lining, the surrounding ground and infrastructure within the zone of influence. Continuous monitoring gives engineers the data needed to identify movement, understand trends and manage risk as work progresses. Senceive wireless monitoring can be deployed before, during and after construction, with sensors installed quickly and repositioned as the project develops. It can yield considerable cost savings compared to other methods, accelerate construction and help to manage risk.

Senceive sensors are compact, autonomous and suited to short or long-term deployment. A wide range of brackets and fixings allows sensors to be installed at any angle on concrete, steel, brickwork and other surfaces.

For sensors located deep within a tunnel, repeater nodes can relay data to a gateway positioned outside the portal. Wi-Fi or Ethernet can also be used where available.

Choose the communications platform to suit your project:

Monitor the parameters that matter • Tunnel convergence and divergence • Longitudinal settlement and heave • Structural deformation and rotation • Joint and crack displacement • Ground movement • Groundwater pressure • Strain and load • Temperature

Ideal for dense sensor networks where highly responsive reporting is required.

Suitable for widely dispersed sensors and locations where data needs to travel through physical obstructions such as soil and rock.
