In the midst of COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions and following CDC guidelines to keep you safe. All staff are wearing masks, washing hands frequently and promptly sanitizing all equipment after each usage. Patients are screened upon arrival. Patient temperatures are taken and are asked to wash their hands before the start of their appointment. Before you do, however, let’s examine the pain itself. What Causes Hip, Knee and Leg Pain? Hip, knee and leg pain are surprisingly common. Thus, their source can come from a variety of things. If you’re experiencing pain in any part of your leg, pinpointing the exact spot can help you determine the cause. Mayo Clinic has pinpointed several leading causes of hip, knee and leg pain. While many causes exist, the most likely are:
While some causes are more severe than others, a physician can identify each. As the body ages, joints become inflamed. Cartilage may wear down, reducing the “buffer” between bones. WHAT I S MANUA L T H E RAP Y ? • One tool in a physical therapist’s kit, Manual Therapy helps to mobilize stiff joints and soft tissue. Our physical therapist has received extensive training in specialized manual therapy techniques from a wide variety of schools and instructors. • Manual Therapy techniques may include, but are not limited to: Manual Traction, Mobilization, and Soft Tissue Massage. HEALTHY RECIPE SPICY LEMON GARLIC BAKED TILAPIA Ingredients: • 4-6 tilapia fillets • 1 tbsp lemon juice • 3 tbsp butter • 1 tsp garlic minced • 1/2 tsp red chili powder • salt to taste • 1/2 tsp black pepper freshly cracked • 1 lemon cut into thin slices • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
Directions: Wash the tilapia fillets and pat them dry. Arrange the fillets in a baking tray. Mix lemon juice, butter, garlic, red chili powder, salt and black pepper in a bowl. Pour this mixture over the tilapia. Arrange lemon slices in between the fillets. Pre-heat the oven to 350 Degrees F. Bake the fish for 15-20 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley. HIP HIKES While standing up on a step, lower one leg downward towards the floor by tilting your pelvis to the side. Then return the pel-vis/leg back to a leveled position. Repeat 6 times on each side.
