VEHICLE RECYCLING FIRM INVESTS MORE THAN £1 MILLION IN ITS FLEET Salvage and vehicle recycling company, SYNETIQ has announced a seven-figure investment in its fleet of vehicle transporters. The company was formed in March 2019, following the successful merger of Car Transplants, Motorhog, FAB Recycling and DH Systems. With recycling facilities in both Gloucester and Cinderford, the business says that the investment marks a significant expansion in SYNETIQ's recovery capabilities. A spokesperson for the company said: "SYNETIQ's logistics team has worked closely with Belle Trailers to design bespoke transporters around the business's requirements. "Beginning with a basic 'salvage' specification, the bodies have been modified to make each job safer and easier for drivers, customers and other road users" l GLOUCESTERSHIRE TECHNOLOGY COMPANY SOLD IN $3.3 BILLION DEAL A technology company that employs more than 1,000 staff at its Gloucestershire base has been sold in a deal worth $3.3 billion. Delphi Technologies PLC has been acquired by BorgWarner INC, with the US-based auto parts maker adding Delphi's expertise in power electronics to its portfolio. The deal will see two leading suppliers to the automotive industry team up ready for the positioning into hybrid and electric vehicles. Frederic Lissalde, president and chief executive of BorgWarner INC said: “Delphi Technologies will bring proven leading power electronics technologies, talent and scale that will complement our hybrid and electric vehicle propulsion offerings. "As a combined company, we look forward to delivering enhanced solutions to our customers, while driving increased value for our stockholders" l

SPONSOR SOUGHT TO FUND NEW RESCUE HOVERCRAFT An urgent appeal has gone out to the business community from a search and rescue team relied upon by all the county's emergency services. One of the key vehicles used by SARA, the Severn Area Rescue Association, in its operations on water and land countywide is no longer fit for purpose. Shaun Egan, hovercraft manager for SARA, which relies entirely on donations for its own survival, said: "Our crew have done their best to rectify the faults, but the hovercraft now needs significant expenditure to bring it back up to operational standard. "We don't have the ability to fund the work, due to other commitments to maintain frontline assets, crew survival equipment and training "SARA would be delighted to offer the new sponsor the opportunity of having their company logos placed on the hovercraft itself” l
