OUTDOOR RESORT PALM SPRINGS Membership Survey Comments on Any Aspect of Outdoor Resort Page 4
31. Lower the dog crowd’s loud demands. They already are inconsiderate enough with barking, excrement, and bringing int their unsanitary dogs into laundry and pool areas. Desert Shadows has better policies regarding dogs. 32. Allowing owners to use areas around tennis and pickleball courts to relieve their dogs is disgusting and makes the grass look horribly unattractive. We look like a trailer park instead of an RV Resort. Allowing dogs to use other common areas ruins the grass and does not provide a 5-star look. Speeding throughout the resort is a problem! Golf carts think they don’t have to adhere to the speed limit. Some cars are speeding, too. Vendors often speed. I love the new palm trees at the entrance! Beautiful! 33. Infrastructure should be the priority! Keep HOAs down a priority! Keep control the golf cheating group! Open golf Can Am tournament to all! Tennis don’t need any satellite courts! Tennis should not be bringing in outside league players that use our courts that ORPS owners pay to maintain. Tennis are attempting to justify costly improvements to LP with outside players that ORPS owners should not have to pay for. Any tennis expansion at LP should be funded by the tennis club not all ORPS owners. Pickleball contributed $77,000 towards court conversion and lighting through their own club fund raising. If tennis cannot do the same it should tell you that their own club is so small and irrelevant that they can’t generate their own funding! Pickleball is thriving (430 to 500 club members) and needs more courts. Need to convert satellite tennis courts into Pickleball courts! Pickleball noise is negligible and we need to move to the Onyx ball at virtually no louder sound! Pickleball has increased lot sales and values since the USAPA ball introduced. Now improve further for the benefit of all ORPS owners! Dog owners NEED to keep dogs on their own lots and not utilize any common areas such as around tennis and Pickleball courts, streets, and other owners’ lots and sign posts for relief. Take your dogs out of park or on your own lot Period! Ladies’ quilting group needs to be protected as they are large and do so much community and charitable good in the name of ORPS. 34. Overall, we're doing "OK" but we are at risk of having a look and feel of a dated resort. Many members (board included), are stuck in the 80's and it shows in certain areas. We're at risk of falling behind. We need to update our food/bar programs, level of entertainment, and communications to today’s level. We need to find a balance for the older owners and the newer ones, not everybody wants to see "another" set of Strollin Bones set for entertainment (yawn), or have a lousy drink at a bar that looks like an old dance hall with the lights on high, or even worse Bingo. Younger owners want (and deserve) better options, without taking away the things our older owner like. Balance is key, but let’s bring things up to today’s standards that exist outside the resort (get current), we're starting to feel like a time machine to the 80's 35. Our main concern is the dog problem. Each dog owner should use their own lot for dog relief. Buying an additional space for a dog park is great, but only those with dogs should have to pay for that. It’s definitely a touchy item around here. Also the $15 a day fee is pretty steep, especially if they don't use the facilities. We always thought the HOA fee were high enough and pay for the use of all facilities already. Seems like a bit of double dipping when you also charge the renter the additional fee.
