Venue: Alton Campus Duration: 1 year/2 years

Teaching & Learning You will be taught by a small team of teachers and classes will be supported by Learning Support Assistants. You will complete assignments to build a portfolio of evidence to achieve the Trinity College Arts Award (Discover and/or Explore). The assessments will consist of both practical and written tasks. As part of the course, you will be involved in various productions/performances demonstrating the skills you have developed during your time on the course. This will mean that, on occasion, you may be required to work ‘unsociable’ hours due to evening performances or work experience in theatres. Assessment You will generate a portfolio of evidence through different means. Progression Students will be able to progress to a more vocational programme of study or a Supported Internship course to find a pathway toward a successful, independent adulthood. Entry Requirements No formal qualifications or previous experience is required, but a good attitude to learning is important, as is a keen interest in the creative arts.

Overview The Expressions Creative Programme is the course for you if you have an enthusiasm for the arts and are keen to extend yourself individually while working closely in a group. Active participation is essential to be successful on this course. As well as experiencing lessons in Drama, Dance, Music and Art, you will develop your independent life skills and abilities in English and Maths. You will also have the opportunity to take part in work experience placements or enterprise activities as well as weekly enrichment options. There will be opportunities to attend theatre trips, visits and workshops throughout the year and we are delighted to have forged close links with renowned organisations such as Blue Apple, which includes working in partnership with their staff and students. Structure On the Expressions Course you will: – Study the Creative Arts through practical lessons looking at all aspects including Dance, Drama, Music and Art – Have the chance to develop your performance skills through live performance opportunities, working alongside other students at Alton – Take part in workshops with teachers & students from Laine Theatre Arts, as well as with other reputable Arts organisations – Have the opportunity to develop your employment skills through a work experience placement, preparing you for a more independent life – Develop your independent life skills and awareness of your local community
