[Continued from Page 485] power and without any reservations? “He that winneth souls is wise’’! Helps for the Leader I. N a t u r a l F ield s for T e st im o n y One of the most effective means of soul-winning is found in appealing through mutual occupational interests. For instance, an athlete often can win an athlete, for in matters of sport they “speak the same language.” A high-school teacher arranges for informal gatherings in her home for certain members of her classes. The young people frequently find that one of the guests in the group—whom they respect for his or her intellectual achievements—clears their doubts con cerning spiritual matters. Lawyers have mailed copies of a sal vation message, “Consider the Evi dence,” written by a Christian attorney, to large numbers of their colleagues. A merchant with a large mail-order business gives the gospel to each of his customers by enclosing gospel portions in every shipment of his goods. Who in your group is a key person for reaching other occupational groups? —M. M. C. II. N ew C a m p u s O p p o r t u n it ie s “There seems to be a new attitude in the campus this year. Students who formerly would not listen to anything religious are not only willing but seem ingly eager to talk about the Bible. . .” Thus spoke a senior at the University of California at Los Angeles the other day. Another student explained why this year is different when he said, “Per haps by this time next year most of the men who are here at U. C. L. A. now will be taking post-graduate work in France. That’s enough to make a fellow stop and think.” From my observation, non-Christian students are more thoughtful and open to the truth, and Christian students are more earnest and ready to serve Christ than any time during the past twenty years that I have had intimate contact with the university situation. It is a zero hour for Christian campus work— the opportune time to go over the top in winning students to Christ.—Milo F. Jamison, in The Bible Bulletin. Questions for Discussion 1. What is the duty of Christians as to witnessing? (Acts 1:8). 2. What response have we made to the call of God for messengers to carry His truth to those who have not heard it? 3. What are prerequisites for witness ing? (Isa. 6:5-8). 4. What rewards follow witnessing? (Prov. 11:30; Dan. 12:3).
