Love ball fundraiser The Love Ball keeps on bouncing, thanks to Nancy Graham and her generous friends, family and colleagues. Last spring, Nancy Graham, a Diabetes Education Program nurse, initiated the Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) Love Ball Project. As a patient and WDMH employee, Graham said she is proud of the hospital and wants to give back. She invited others to make a difference by making a donation to the WDMH Foundation. Over the summer, the project raised $985. And in September, Graham held a Campfire for Cancer and raised another $2,490. To date, $3,475 has been donated. “My friends wanted to donate and it was a lot of fun,” she said. “There were about 75 people around the campfire.” The evening included performances by local talent, a big campfire and, of course, marshmallows. “It was a great evening in the hood,” added Lucy Kroeze, one of the hosts for the evening. “Thank you to everyone who is supporting the WDMH Love Ball Project,” said Kristen Casselman, WDMH Foundation managing director. “Every day, our donors go above and beyond with generous and creative fundraising events. Big or small, every one of them has made an impact and we are always grateful.” – Francis Racine
