Increase engagement with the student voice on ED&I matters.

Re-brand the Student EDI Committee as Student EDI Ambassadors and improve reporting lines with SSLC’s. Ensure EDI is on the agenda of at least one SSLC meeting for each programme per academic year and rename as Community & Inclusion. Review current induction process at School and Institution level. Seek feedback from new starters on how to improve the process.

At least 12 Student ED&I Ambassadors per year from a range of programmes. Student ED&I Ambassadors meet with SSLC’s on a termly basis. Increase in feedback on EDI from students.

Rationale: Further work is required to improve engagement with our SEDIC and communication between the SEDIC, SSLC’s and EDIC.

Revisit and refresh our induction process for academic and PSS staff.

Review conducted with recommendations made to SH and HoGs. Survey and focus group feedback received that inform recommendations to be implemented. Guidance produced and published for line managers on the induction process.

Rationale: Anecdotal feedback from staff suggests that there are inconsistencies in the induction experience for new starters.
