Leeds - Facilities Manager (Cleaning Services)

• Contributing to the project management of significant change programmes across the campus, areas undergoing major refurbishments and new buildings, by ensuring that cleaning provision is catered for; • Working as part of the wider Campus Support Services Management team and supporting Managers and supervisors in those teams, including Facilities Support Services and Security Services; • Promoting and delivering leadership and management responsibilities in accordance with the University’s people management framework, leadership programme and uphold CCSS and University values through personal example and working practices. These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post. Hours worked, will be flexible and as required to meet the demands of the business. i.e. 5 days over 7 (normally Monday to Friday, weekends may need to be worked during University Open days). The post holder will also, on request undertake management and supervisory responsibilities in other Campus Support teams including Facilities Support Services and Security Services. Hours of Work As a Facilites Manager (Cleaning Services) you will have: • Significant experience of leading and managing staff within a cleaning function (commercial or institutional) combined with experience of working in a management team; • A proven ability to lead and manage staff including effectively and to create an environment where staff are motivated and supported to achieve service/organisational goals; • Significant working knowledge of building maintenance contracts and relevant Health and Safety legislation; • Significant experience of contract management and performance improvement and experience of procurement activity and tendering contracts; • Proven ability to lead and manage change effectively; What will you bring to the role?
