Leeds - Facilities Manager (Cleaning Services)

• Managing change effectively in line with the Service’s strategic plan; • Ensuring that a high quality and cost effective facilities management service is delivered to customers within the University and key partners based on campus, ensuring that key performance indicators are set alongside a service level agreement; • Developing proactive working relationships with key managers (Faculty and Service based) to deliver an integrated approach to facilities management, and where possible identifying opportunities and delivering a continuous improvement plan; • In conjunction with the Deputy Director of Campus Support Services, and the Management Accountant, managing and reviewing budgets, ensuring that expenditure is monitored and controlled in line with the University’s financial regulations; • Assisting the Deputy Director of Campus Support Services with the tendering and procurement of service contracts and products in line with the University financial procedures; • Promoting and delivering a strong customer culture, continuously monitoring and responding to customer feedback, complaints and satisfaction surveys in order to continuously improve service delivery; • Overall responsibility for ensuring that cleaning staff and contractors are complying with relevant mandatory and statutory standards/regulations as determined by the University, health and safety management system and ensuring effective management of Health and Safety across sites; • Managing external contractors including window cleaning, pest control, hygiene services and waste management. Attending and chairing contract review meetings to monitor contractors in accordance with spend, quality, health and safety and programmes of work; • Monitoring Cleaning Services performance and implementing a thorough internal audit programme, producing appropriate statistics as required. Market testing of service and benchmarking performance against external organisations as appropriate; • Attending and leading internal and/or external working groups and implementing any decisions made on behalf of the service; • Working collaboratively and pro-actively with other members of the Campus Support Services Senior Management Team to deliver a high level of service in support of strategic aims;
