a. Number Required. The total number of required handicapped accessible parking spaces is based on the total number of required parking spaces. Required Minimum Number of Handicapped Accessible Parking Spaces

101 Number of Off-street Parking Spaces Required A. Determining Number of Required Off-street Parking Spaces. 1. Round Up Fractional Spaces. When calculations to determine the number of off-street parking spaces required by these Zoning Regulations result in a fraction, count any fraction over one-half as a required parking space. 2. Shared Parking. Joint use off-street parking facilities may be provided for separate uses, as long as the total number of spaces provided is equal to or greater than the sum of required parking spaces for each separate use. a. On a site in single ownership, with large places of assembly where use varies by time or season, plan for shared parking that contains all parking on the site or on accessory parking lots, except for infrequent peak use periods. (1) If offsite parking during peak use periods is likely to be a consistently reoccurring problem, the number of required parking spaces may be increased. 3. Employee Parking. When the number of required parking spaces is based on the number of employees, calculate based on the maximum number of employees on the premises at any one time , whether on duty, residing, or both. 4. Handicapped Accessible Parking Spaces. Provide at least the number and types of handicapped accessible parking spaces required by the Design Standards of the most recent revision to the Americans With Disabilities Act.

b. Van Accessible Parking Spaces. Some of the required accessible parking spaces must also be van accessible.

(1) For parking areas with 1 to 200 spaces, provide 1 van accessible parking space. (2) For 201 to 500 spaces, provide 2 van accessible parking spaces. (3) For 501 or more spaces, at least 1 out of every 6 accessible spaces must be van accessible.
