2. Street Signs. Provide street signs as approved by the applicable Governing Body. 3. Sidewalks must meet the standards established in these Subdivision Regulations. a. Construct sidewalks to conform to the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, 42 USCA 12101, as amended , and K.S.A. 58-1301 et seq. b. Sidewalks must be constructed of 6 inch depth concrete, on 6 inch depth 95% compacted soil subgrade. B. Drainage. Provide a stormwater drainage system which meets the standards established in the Andover Stormwater Management Regulations. 1. In rural-type subdivisions, the stormwater drainage system must also meet the requirements of the County Engineer. 2. A drainage easement may be required on private property. a. The Subdivider is responsible for initial construction of the stormwater drainage system. b. Property owners are responsible for ongoing maintenance of any drainage easement which is on their property, or in a right-of-way adjacent to their property. C. Water Supply and Fire Hydrants. Construct municipal type water supply systems according to the standards and requirements of the agency supplying the water. 1. In unincorporated areas, provide a water supply which meets the standards of the Butler County, Kansas Environmental Health Sanitary Code 2016 .
103 On-Site Improvements A. Streets, Street Signs, and Sidewalks. 1. Streets and alleys must meet street design standards
established in these Subdivision Regulations. a. For street design standards, see Subdivision Regulations, Sections 8-107 and 8-108 .
b. In urban-type subdivisions ( as defined in Section 8-100B of these Subdivision Regulations), construct streets of concrete, asphalt, or asphaltic concrete, not gravel or sand. c. In rural-type subdivisions ( as defined in Section 8-100B of these Subdivision Regulations), construct streets of concrete, asphalt, or asphaltic concrete, gravel, or sand. (1) Construct streets according to standards established by the County Engineer. (2) In unincorporated areas, streets and roadways are subject to final acceptance by the County or the applicable township trustees. d. Grading. In both urban and rural areas, grade the entire right-of-way to be consistent with the street design standards in Section 8-108 of these Subdivision Regulations. (1) Identify trees to be saved in the right-of-way. Protect their root zones, and prune as needed for the tree's health, and for safety and visibility. (2) Remove stumps, trees that cannot be saved, boulders and other obstructions from the right-of- way.
