Valencia Eyecare Optometry’s mission is to provide the best patient experience in eye care, which is how each patient is treated when they come in for an exam. Founded in 2007, this Valencia, Calif. practice moved to a new location in 2018 that features a clean, modern design with a unique chandelier fixture that draws attention and makes an impression from the minute patients walk in the door. The waiting area features refreshments, free wi-fi, Netflix, and Disney+. It’s all part of the practice’s efforts to make patients feel special and connected to the practice. In fact, owners Paul Lin, OD, and Phuong Quach, OD, give patients their cell phone numbers in order to provide 24-hour care if needed. As much as Valencia Eyecare Optometry values its patients, it values its staff just as much. Employees of the practice are appreciated for their hard work, dedication, and loyalty. The team regularly participates in outings and activities together to build their relationships, including escape rooms, bowling, and picnics. Staff members are also given annual passes to Six Flags Magic Mountain to encourage fun outside of work. Dr. Lin and Dr. Quach offer a generous benefits package, as well as bonuses and incentives that have helped to increase monthly revenue. As a reward, the doctors took the entire staff from both office

locations on a four-day cruise. This culture has resulted in a staff that is dedicated to contributing to the growth of the practice, and turnover is very low. Education is a key component of the success of Valencia Eyecare Optometry, as the doctors and staff take time to thor- oughly explain each patient’s ocular health, including dry eye, myopia management, contact lens and spectacle lens options. In order to continue improving and growing their practice, the doctors are committed to their own education as well—through attending national optometry conferences, reading books about business development, and membership in the Palmdale and Santa Clarita Chambers of Commerce. Valencia Eyecare Op- tometry’s Palmdale office is also a fourth-year rotation site for Western University Health Sciences School of Optometry, and also accepts two interns from the local high school each year to introduce the students to the field of optometry. Dr. Lin has been active with the local societies of the California Optometric Association Political Action Committee (COA- PAC) since 2014. The group’s purpose is to support legislative keyperson relationships and inform legislative personnel on bills relative to optometry.
