The LHIN will work with its local partners through the plan to have people more in- volved in planning their own health servic- es, making sure more people receive quality care based on actual needs, and that more people in need mental health and addic- tion treatment have access to services. The IHSP emphasizes more community- based care for seniors in the Champlain LHIN to avoid the need for long-term care hospitalization. People with complex health conditions will get more help to manage their situations. Those residents with ter- minal conditions will have greater access to palliative care services to help them and their families during their times of crisis and in a setting of their choice. OTTAWA | An updated plan for delivery of health services for Eastern Ontario is ready to go. The Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) board reviewed and ap- proved the new three-year health services plan during a recent meeting. The Integrated Health Service Plan (IHSP) is based on previous integrated service plans that the Champlain LHIN has followed since the provincial government revamped Ontario’s health services system to create the regional networks. The updated IHSP is the result of consulta- tion with various community stakeholders in the Ottawa, Five Counties, and Renfrew County, North Lanark and North Grenville counties areas that make up the Champlain LHIN.
