Stopping the Violence Services

Domestic Violence Intervention Provides specialized therapeutic intervention services for both perpetrators and survivors of domestic violence, with a focus on ensuring the safety of their children and partners. Specifically designed to address the complex dynamics of domestic abuse, DVIP works closely with fathers who have a history of child abuse, neglect, or exposure to intimate partner violence. Through individual therapy sessions and a comprehensive 17-week group program known as Caring Dads, participants engage in weekly sessions aimed at exploring and addressing issues of domestic abuse and its impact on children. DVIP also facilitates a Mom’s Empowerment group tailored to victims of domestic abuse or partners of participants in the Caring Dads group. This group meets weekly for 8 sessions, providing a safe place to discuss various aspects of abuse, including its types, cycles, power dynamics, and the profound effects on children, while also focusing on empowerment and safety strategies. The program provides services to clients referred by MCFD in the South Fraser Area (Surrey, Delta, Langley, and White Rock).
