Les Nats de Rockland ont tenu leur première soirée pub à l’aréna CIH de Rockland, le vendredi 19 janvier. Ils ont ramassé 2000 $ pour la recherche sur le cancer. Plusieurs brasseries, restaurants et vignobles locaux étaient présents pour servir des dégustations. Les Nats ont gagné 5-4 contre les Raiders de Nepean. The RocklandNats were winners last week, in every sense.The teamwon both of their games while raising money for cancer. Pub Night The Rockland Nationals hosted its first annual Pub Night for Charity at the CIH Arena in Rockland, on Friday, January 19. Several local breweries, wineries and res- taurants were present before and during the Nats’ game against the Nepean Raiders. A total of $2000 was raised for cancer research on behalf of Nicholle Anderson. Tuque de Broue Brewery, Joyful Coffee, Clocktower Brew Pub Orleans, Jambel, La Binerie Plantagenet, Château des Charmes, Brasserie Étienne Brûlé Brewery, G.A.B.’s, Orléans Brewing Co. and St-Albert Cheese Factory were there to serve a variety of their products. Three players from the Ottawa Senators were present for the official puck drop of the game and gave a pre-game speech to the players in the Nats’ locker room. Nats vs. Raiders On top of the success of its Pub Night, the team also emerged victorious during their match against the Raiders.The Nats took the win 5-4 in overtime. The Raiders opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Alexander Bourhas.The Nats then responded with two back-to-back goals, barely aminute apart, halfway through the period. Alex Robert andWade Brennan were responsible for those goals. The Nats then took the lead 3-1 with a goal by Antoine Leblanc in the second period. The Raiders narrowed the lead 3-2 with a goal by Ryan Donovan with 19 seconds left in the second period. Rockland then advanced their lead again 4-2 with an early goal by Jean-Sylvain Boyer. The Nepean Raiders came out strong with a goal by Antoine Belisle. The Raiders fought until the end and managed to tie the game by pulling their goalie. Belisle got his second goal of the night with 27 seconds left in the game. The score was 4-4 heading into overtime. Raphael Gosselin put a quick finish to the game with the game-winning goal for the Nats aminute and 56 seconds into overtime. Raiders vs. Nats The teams then met again on Sunday, January 21 in Nepean. The Nats and the Raiders were neck-in-neck once again and the Nats took the win in shootouts 4-3. The teams were breathing down each other’s necks the entire game, each team scoring one goal per period. Antoine Belisle opened the scoring for the Raiders in the first period, and Jean-Sylvain Boyer responded for the Nats. The game was then tied 2-2 at the end of the second period. Brady Elder scored for the Nats, while ColinMcCaughey found the back of the net for the Raiders. The same pattern ended the game – Geoff Dempster scored the third goal for the Rai- ders in the third period and the Nats tied the game 3-3 in the final minute of the game with a goal by Raphael Gosselin. Gosselin had the game-winning goal in overtime during the Nats vs. Raiders game on Friday. After a goalless overtime, the Nats took home the victory in shootouts. No goals
