illennials are changing the concept of home ownership in

history. However, as with all things in life, what goes up must come down. No one was prepared for the global financial crisis that brought the mar- ket to a screeching halt in 2008. Recognizing the void of liquidity in the market for all real estate investors and realizing the need to serve the single-family investment industry during this period, Paul and his partners founded Residen- tial Capital Partners as a private lending company in 2009 dedicated to the single-family rehab and rental industry. Paul Jackson of Residental Capital Partners remembers the market bust near the end of the Reagan Era in his hometown of Dallas, TX. The S&L crisis of the 1980s sent shockwaves through the real estate industry and the market began to meltdown. While only 10 years old at the time, Paul can still remember his father’s statement at the dinner table: “We’re going to have to adjust our lifestyle for a while, but we will be OK. Our house is paid for and so are several of our commer- cial real estate holdings.” Following in his father’s footsteps, Paul entered the real estate invest- ment business after college gradu- ation and four years with JP Morgan Chase & Co. The market was good and the meltdown of the late 80s was
