FPA Wraps Annual Meeting The Flexible Packaging Association’s 2019 Annual Meeting was held March 6-8 at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale,Arizona.Attendees included more than 250 FPA members and guests who participated in general sessions that focused on flexible packaging industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Curt Begle, President, Health, Hygiene, and Spe- cialties Business for Berry Global, and Chairman of the FPA Board of Directors, opened the Annual Meeting educational sessions with a preliminary overview of the state of the flexible packaging in- dustry, and Jan Homan, FPE Honorary Chairman and Senior Advisor of Constantia Flexibles, provid- ed an update on the European flexible packaging market. Nick Vafiadis, Vice President, Plastics, IHS Markit, shared an update on the polyethylene mar- ket; and Tom Blaige, Chairman and CEO, Blaige and Company, provided a consolidation analysis for plastics, packaging, and chemicals. FPA’s 2020 Annual Meeting will take place March 4- 6, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida.

packaging are communicated and understood; advo- cating to protect against potential barriers to growth, combat regulatory burdens, and build relationships with diverse stakeholders; promoting the advantages and benefits of flexible packaging; communicating to keep members and stakeholders informed and en- gaged; providing industry data to the membership and investment community; and creating networking and education opportunities to connect the member- ship. The report also includes a listing of FPA mem- bers, the FPA Board of Directors, and the FPA mission statement and strategic goals. The report provides information on FPA Communi- cations; the FPA Advocacy Program, on both the Fed- eral and State levels; the activities of the FPA Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee and in- dustry-specific regulatory and legislative issues that are on the committee’s radar; the activities of the Sterilization Packaging Manufacturers Council (SPMC); and the FPA Flexible Packaging Financial Benchmarking Program, which includes several sur- veys and reports that assist FPA members in making informed business decisions.
