PAYROLL INSIGHTS SURVEY 2026 IN-HOUSE
RESULTS
Working arrangements
Number of pay professionals in an organisation
What working arrangements do you operate for the staff in your organisation?
The median number of employees per pay professional is 400, a 7% increase on the previous year. This suggests payroll teams are continuing to absorb additional workload despite ongoing legislative complexity and reporting obligations. In-house payroll teams average at four team members, this does not consider the complexity of the payrolls, as specialised teams may require more resources.
