2019 Northern Virginia Retired Men’s Golf Association (NVRMGA)

Don’t miss out on a great experience of playing local country club courses. If you are 55+, you can become a member of the NVRMGA and do just that! ANCC will field two separate teams (ARL & FFX). Both teams are always looking for new players. The ANCC ARL team was the league champion in 2010, 2015, and 2017, and the ANCC ARL and ANCC FFX teams were co-champions in 2011. In 2018, the ARL team finished 3rd in the Eastern Region and 4th in the League while FFX finished 3rd in the Central Region and tied for 7th in the League. Both teams are looking forward to successful seasons in 2019. The 2019 ANCC teams will be put together within the next few months and eligible ANCC members can sign up for either team. Visit the teams' web pages on the ANCC website before Thursday, 31 January for the ARL Team and by Friday, 1 March for the FFX Team and you will find signup instructions. Click here for ARL team and here for FFX team information. How does NVRMGA work? The League will again be organized into 3 geographic regions, with ARL in the Eastern and FFX in the Central. We will play each of 10 opposing teams twice, once at home and once away between early April and late September. The League Champion will be determined by a four-team playoff (The 3 region champions and 1 wildcard team) during the first two weeks of October. Play is on Thursdays, teeing off at 8:45 AM. As a team member, you will be assigned to play in at least 5 matches and have the opportunity to volunteer as a substitute for matches. These are handicap matches, so no need to worry about your current handicap. Dear Members, A personal referral is the best recruiting technique we have to identify prospective members at Army Navy Country Club. I ask you to encourage your friends consider joining ANCC or to sign up for our Trial Membership Program, which allows prospective members to try out the Club facilities for 6 months. The Trial Membership Program is limited to 50 families this year. Referring a new member is a great deal for you too. In January and February, if you are the primary sponsor of a new Resident Member, through our Social Passport Program, you will receive $500 to spend anywhere in the Club, except for dues, capital infusion, and initiation fee. Normally, this program is worth $300 to the referring Member. If you treat a friend for golf or a colleague and spouse for dinner, you will more than recoup what you paid with the $500 credit. A win-win! We are also offering a new member referral incentive. The first Member to be the primary sponsor of 3 new Resident Members between 01 January to 15 June 2019 will receive 4 free tickets to the July 4th rooftop—no lottery required.
