Understanding the T im es Edited by William Culbertson and Herman B. Centz These are the messages of the sec ond prophetic conference in New York City under the auspices of the Ameri can Association for Jewish Evange lism. The 29 messages contained in this report cover most of the common ly discussed subjects but one finds also a few new ones, such as “ Premillen- nialism as a Philosophy of History,” by Alva J. McClain; “Arnold Toyn bee and the Jews” by Frank E. Gaebe- lein; and “The Prophets Speak to the 20th Century” by Richard A. Elvee. A chapter on “The Pretribulation Rapture and the Commentators,” by McClain is the kind of thing that one can turn to again and again. 290 pages; cloth; Zondervan Publishing House, Grand Rapids, Mich.; $3.00. We all have a warm spot in our heart for those who are physically afflicted, yet make the best of it—not in the popular sense of resignation but in the truly spiritual sense. There is a growing literature of autobio graphical testimony of triumph in suffering and handicap which has probably been pointed up more sharp ly than anywhere else by Dale Evans Rogers in Angel Unaware. Affliction Worketh is a stimulating and inspira tional book by a woman who has been on her back most of the time for 27 years. Here the reader finds chats of problems and victories that can be obtained by any sufferer who will let God work the work. 131 pages; cloth; Wm. B. Eerdmans Pub lishing Co., Grand Rapids, Mich.; $ 2 . 00 . C ou rse of Em p ire By Ruth Bowlen This is a historical novel with a Christian subsidiary development. The plot and background are con structed within an authentic frame work, the result of considerable re search. The period covered is from 1845-47 which includes the battle of the Alamo and the episode of the A ftlietion W o r k e th By Frieda J. Schneider

It’s ASTOUNDING! It’s AMAZING! It’s TRUE! Our file bears out this fact.

$10 invested in Child Evangelism often means that 3 more children w ill make a first-tim e decision for Christ (hence $3.33% per child). Weigh this against an estimated $10,000 to win one adult for Christ. Helping win children to Christ is a sound investment. W rite fo r Information. Ask for FREE copy of Child Evangelism Magazine.
