APPLIED PHYSICAL MEDICINE IS HERE TO HELP
A local gym has partnered with another local business to print these awesome shirts. Thanks to Chris Gartrell and gym 244 for helping us support our city.
We brought in Arc point labs to do covid-19 antibody testing for our staff and their families. Don’t worry, we all tested negative showing that our cleanliness is up to the most optimal standards!
Lalo and Matt made tortillas and calabacitas for our staff Mexican themed potluck. We had carne asada, Pollo, calabacitas with 2 types of guacamole, and all the fix-ins.
Whether you have pain, or just difficulty performing integral tasks of your life, we can get you moving and feeling better, without increased COVID-19 risk. Call us at 520.296.8513 and ask to speak to a PT now. Hello, all. Dr. Noah here. As we are all more active at home and/or outside, and not in the gym, we are likely using unique items for exercise. Sometimes we put on a pair of shoes, take a few steps, and determine that
During these unique and challenging times, a lot of people are just sitting with pain, because they don’t want to risk infecting others, as well as minimize the risk of getting infected themselves. We can help with any ailment; head, jaw, headache, neck, shoulder, arm, upper back, lower back, mid-back, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and everything in between. We now have the ability to do telehealth consultations and give advice via the internet and phone to determine if you need to come into the office, or if we can simply give you advice and exercises to do. This is touch-free, contact-free, and will allow you to stay safe, without being in pain. Understand your pain: You know us. We will do whatever we can to help you understand your pain, to help you get out of pain. An important note. This is also true if you are not having pain, but cannot do certain tasks. We need to make sure you are safe washing your hair in the shower, getting dishes out of your dishwasher, or simply going for a walk or trying a new exercise.

these new sweet kicks are causing pain. What do we do? We change shoes. This is the easy source of pain to detect. But, what happens if this detection is not as obvious? Most of you have seen one of our Doctors of physical therapy in the office. What you have likely learned, and if not, I am going to tell you here, is that pain in your arm, is not always arm pain. You can deduce what I am going to say next, right? Pain in your leg is not always leg pain. At APM, we will figure out what the source of your pain actually is, and most importantly, build strategies to correct it.

WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE GETTING PHYSICAL THERAPY
• Consider exactly where the pain occurs in your body, and research what the different parts of the body are called so that you can have an accurate and helpful conversation about your pain. For example, back pain has a lot of different differentiations, and lumbar pain (which is in the lower back) is frequently caused by factors different from what would cause upper-back or neck pain. • How does the pain feel when it develops? Is it a lingering ache? Is it a sharp stab? Is it more of a tingling feeling? Each of these sensations are actually associated with different types of problems, so describing your pain appropriately may be helpful in determining the best treatment methods for your body’s needs. • What do you think may be causing the pain? Of course, it happens that a pain will develop, and you are dumbfounded as to why, but more often than not, there is something that you think could be influencing it. If the pain started around the same time as a change in environment or life circumstances, then it is worth telling your physical therapist about the association. Another thing to consider about your pain is whether or not it develops at particular times of the day or year. There are plenty of situations when someone begins to experience pain when the weather starts to change, and it turns out that the pain is a result of arthritis and inflammation. There are other situations in which the pain will develop as a result of prolonged sitting or the opposite — such as when things get crazy at home or at work, and you find that you are not getting as much sleep as usual. Considering any changes in your daily habits or environmental factors can be very helpful in determining what is causing your pain.
Regardless of where your pain is, how long you’ve been dealing with it, or how intense the pain feels, the smart thing to do when pain develops is to speak with a physical therapist. Working with a physical therapist can help you finally get a step ahead of your pain, finding treatment options that are designed to provide you with long-term relief instead of temporary relief from medication. WE ALL WANT TO RETURN TO NORMAL
My wonderful dog is named Wilbur.
I mean, I don’t want to miss the overall prize (like Wilbur and the plate). The second thing is to spend 5 minutes every hour being mindful of what I do have. Being present with what I feel, what I smell, what I see, what I hear, what I taste; basically being mindful regarding my experiences. (Like the treat that Wilbur misses because he is focused on his ultimate prize). We all need a destination to work towards but enjoy an awesome journey along the way. For me, my one thing to get done within 30 days is a cash element of APM/TSR. I want the layout written down with dates, what role my team is going to have, what role I am going to have, and what systems need to be in place to achieve success.
Wilbur loves treats and has a pretty incredible attention span. Once he is locked on a target he loses focus. For example, I am holding a plate in my hand which he wants to lick. If you can, please look next to Wilbur. I gave him some of my pancake, but he can’t see it as he is focused on his predetermined prize.
Doesn’t this relate?
We all want to return to normal and are so focused on that specific outcome we may be ignoring the joyous treats right next to us. A challenge for myself is to pick an outcome I’d like to accomplish within the next 30 days Once I have that outcome, I want to outline every single step I need to take in order tomake it happen.
Now to pay attention to the journey!
What is your 30-day goal?
