The firm's ability to maintain long-term relationships with clients is a cornerstone of its business model. "Our analysis, our forward-thinking on design and creativity, which is way more advanced than the typical contractor... It becomes a team, not adversarial, not an owner-architect- contractor, it's an owner and architect- contractor in-house and we become a team," Richard explains. This collaborative approach minimizes conflicts and enhances project outcomes. Richard’s philosophy is deeply rooted in the traditions passed down through his family. His grandfather and father instilled in him the importance of building strong, personal relationships with clients. This personal touch has become a hallmark of Ahrens Companies, differentiating it from many competitors who rely solely on transactional business relationships. Rigorous Quality Control Measures Quality control at Ahrens Companies is rigorous and systematic. Richard mentions, "We monitor on a daily basis. As I stated earlier, and I’m aware of it, I can personally look at job site photographs every night because we mandate that we get a minimum of 10 photographs per project per day. We control quality because we do have a quality control checklist." This meticulous attention to detail ensures that all projects adhere to the highest standards. The company employs a comprehensive quality control system that includes daily monitoring and detailed checklists. This system allows Ahrens Companies to catch potential issues early and ensure that every aspect of a project meets their rigorous standards.

Maintaining excellent relationships with subcontractors is also a priority for Ahrens Companies. "We have had a lot of our subcontractors working with us for 20 years. They know what we expect of them, and we know what they expect of us. So once again, it's a team relationship," Richard notes. This long-standing collaboration with trusted subcontractors ensures consistency and reliability across all projects. Subcontractors are an integral part of the construction process, and Ahrens Companies has developed a robust system for vetting and maintaining these relationships. Each subcontractor is required to meet stringent standards and carry the appropriate insurance levels. Subcontractor Relationships Built on Trust
