ROCKLAND NATIONALS HAND OUT AWARDS

The Rockland Nats Junior A organization handed out awards to several of its players at the end of their season. Mathieu Blanchette was the team’s top scorer and received the 3-Star Award. Jordan Power was named Rookie of the Year and First Team Rookie All-Star. Jahwara Rennalls was the Top Graduating Player and he earned himself a $500 scholarship fund. Jean-Sylvain Boyer also received a Student-Athlete of the year award, with a $250 scholarship. The Leadership and Perseverance Award went to Simon Houle. Goaltender Sean Storr was named MVP, while Antoine Leblanc was named Most Sportsmanlike. Power, Storr and Boyer were also named as CCHL First Team Academic All-Stars. The CCHL Draft was held on Monday, April 9, and the Rockland Nationals drafted ten players to the organization, from several different teams. Zachari Racine from Casselman was drafted as the Nats’ first round pick, while Justin Roy from L’Orignal was drafted in the fifth round. A local player from Rockland, Bradley Leblanc, also joined the organization and was drafted in the eighth round. Tristan Masse, from Embrun, also made the cut in the sixth round. Ottawa-original players Giovanni Morneau, Joshua Casolato, Luke Haymes, Tucker Shields, Benjamin Baldwin and Bruce Lawrie were also amongst the ten players drafted.
