SMOKE & CO DETECTORS Whites recommend one smoke detector is installed on each floor of the property (installation should ideally be in the hallway or landing area). CO detectors must be installed in any room where there is a solid fuel burning appliance (eg open fire, wood-burner etc), but Whites recommend that they are also installed in any rooms where gas appliances are in-situ (eg boiler, gas fire, gas hob etc) Are there working smoke detectors installed in the property?
