A s we get ready to meet in Guam for the APP’s 112 th Annual Conference, the maritime industry continues to navigate a period of unprecedented change. Across the Pacific, ports are balancing the demands of growing trade, technological innova- tion, environmental stewardship, and resilient infrastructure while remaining firmly connected to the communities they serve. This issue highlights the leadership, collaboration, and forward- thinking that is shaping that future. In honor of our Host Port, we are pleased to feature an in-depth look at the Port Authority of Guam’s trans- formation. Through modern infra- structure investments, strengthened governance, and a long-term strategic APP PORT MEMBERS
of leading one of the Pacific’s most strategically important ports during a period of historic modernization. We also present a special feature where port commissioners share personal insights into public service, governance, and the responsibility of guiding their ports through an increasingly complex oper- ating environment. Together, these stories demonstrate that while every port faces unique challenges, success is built on shared knowledge, strong leadership, and a commitment to collaboration across the Pacific.
