ADELTE advances North American cruise infrastructure with projects in Boston and Seattle A DELTE has reinforced its leadership in cruise terminal infrastructure with the suc-

cessful completion of two major Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridge (SPBB) projects in the United States, delivering advanced passenger board- ing solutions to Flynn Cruiseport Boston and the Port of Seattle. Together, the projects showcase the company’s commitment to improv- ing passenger comfort, enhancing ter- minal efficiency, and supporting the continued growth of North America’s cruise industry. At Flynn Cruiseport Boston, ADELTE recently commissioned its second HYDRA Seaport Passenger Boarding Bridge for the Massachusetts Port Authority. Featuring the com- pany’s innovative double boarding cabin, the bridge was fully assembled at the Port of Barcelona before being transported across the Atlantic for installation and commissioning by ADELTE’s Global Technical Services teams in Spain and the United States. Designed for today’s high-capacity cruise terminals, the HYDRA bridge provides safe, weather-protected board- ing while allowing simultaneous embarkation and disembarkation. The dual boarding configuration improves passenger flow, reduces turnaround times, and enhances the overall guest experience. The installation further strengthens ADELTE’s long-standing partnership with the Massachusetts Port Authority and supports Flynn Cruiseport Boston’s ability to efficiently accom- modate growing passenger volumes. at the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal on Pier 91 in the Port of Seattle. Connected directly to the terminal by enclosed elevated walkways, the new bridges provide passengers with a seamless, safe, and weather-protected route between ship and shore. The project was completed ahead of the 2026 cruise season, which is expected to be the busiest in the Port of Seattle’s history, with approximately 330 cruise vessel calls scheduled. Hundreds of thousands of passengers travel through Seattle each year as the gateway to Alaska cruises, making efficient passenger handling a critical component of terminal operations. The installation also complements the Port of Seattle’s environmental initiatives. Shore power is now avail- able at every cruise berth, enabling ves- sels to reduce emissions while alongside and reinforcing the port’s commitment to sustainable cruise operations. The Pier 91 project marks ADELTE’s second cruise terminal boarding bridge installation in Seattle, following the successful delivery of a KRONUS SPBB and enclosed elevated walkways at the Bell Street Cruise Terminal on Pier 66 several years ago.

Although located on opposite coasts, the Boston and Seattle projects share a common objective: providing mod- ern infrastructure that improves safety, operational efficiency, and passenger comfort while giving ports the flexibil- ity to serve increasingly larger cruise vessels. The projects also demonstrate ADELTE’s expertise in delivering complex international infrastruc- ture programs, from engineering and fabrication through transportation, installation, and commissioning.
