Beta Psi Chapter Continuing the Legacy

T he Beta Psi chapter has excelled collectively and individually in academics, fraternity, and the community. This year Beta Psi has volunteered with the OK Program based in Topeka, KS as mentor team- mates. The Program’s primary goals are to help young men develop leadership and critical thinking skills, promote academic excellence, and reduce the high rates of incarceration and homicide young African-American males face. The chapter has also had the opportunity to host several on campus events to benefit the community such as their 1st an- nual fashion show where students come together to showcase their fashion skills while also collecting clothes to donate to children in the Manhattan, KS USD 383 School District. Just recently, they worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan, KS to host a trunk-or-treat for area children. At the Middle Western Province C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference Brother Breckenridge gave a presentation on financial awareness. Beta Psi partnered with local chapters to organize activities to serve the com- munity. The first of which was the annual St. Jude’s Sunday of Hope church service held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Topeka, KS. During the event, Topeka Alumni and Beta Psi raise over $1,300 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
