conference, the members of the train- ing cluster continued their tradition of wearing professional and fraternal attire that was well coordinated and synchro- nized, which made an impressionable statement as to Kappas being men of distinction, style, and class. With respect to the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA), the Objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi Frater- nity, Inc. align well with the AFA’s mis- sion, which is to enhance its members’ abilities to foster impactful fraternity/so- rority experiences and its vision to be the catalytic force in aligning the fraternity/ sorority experience with the changing dynamics and enduring principles of higher education. Additionally, AFA’s commitment to professional develop- ment, academic and applied research that examines the entire spectrum of the fraternity and sorority experience, the advising profession, collaborations within and between higher education and the inter-fraternal communities, all of which aid advisors in carrying out and fulfilling their assignments as mem- bers of the Chapter Advisors’ Training Cluster. Under the leadership of Elder Wat- son Diggs Awardee, Brother Alvin L. Barrington, National Chairman, the Chapter Advi- sors’ Training Cluster is highly respected and recognized as a positive contributor to the growth and change occurring within AFA, university Greek Life professionals, and com- munity. Evidence of such is the fraternity’s receipt of the prestigious 2017 Diversity and Social Justice Award, partici- pation in AFA’s programs, and attendance at workshops and events. This presence and

The members of the advisors training cluster epitomiz- es the fraternity’s motto of “achievement in every field of endeavor”, which was evidenced by the overwhelming number of brothers present at this year’s annual meeting. As in previous years, a major compo- nent of the AFA’s Annual Meeting was the Chapter Advisors’ Training Cluster yearly assembly, which was led by Chair- man Barrington. Those attending the meeting were members of the Chapter Advisors Training Cluster, leaders from the Grand Chapter and International Headquarters who represented and spoke on behalf of their responsible of- fices within the fraternity. A special Risk Management Workshop was conducted by General Counsel Cleophus Thomas, Jr., Esq. Also, during their visit to India- napolis, the members of the National Council of Province Advisors are grate-

ful for the hospitality and fellowship shown by Brother Bryon C. Thornton, North Central Province Polemarch and the brothers of the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter. Another major highlight of the annual meeting held in Indianapolis was the Grand Chapter’s Wreath Laying Cer- emony in commemoration of the lives of Brothers Elder Watson Diggs, Ezra Dee Alexander, and Guy Levis Grant, three of the esteemed Founders and Brother Irven Armstrong, the second Grand Polemarch. To participate in this auspi- cious occasion was indeed an honor and a privilege for the members of the training cluster. Collectively and individually, the mem- bers of the Chapter Advisors’ Training Cluster are appreciative for the support, advice, and guidance provided by Grand Battles, who is affectionately known as the “Advisors’ Advisor”. During his ten- ure, Brother Battles attended all of the Council of Advisors’ meetings held at AFA and also served as the President of the Devine Nine Council of Presidents. The members of the training cluster appreciate Brother Battle’s accolades relative to a job well done, for believing
