The phrase "Training for Leadership"was first introduced in 1957 by 16 th Grand Polemarch of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , Charles Rodger Wilson. As a guiding theme around which the frater- nity would go on to orient its goals, the Golden Anniversary Grand Chapter Meeting formally introduced its implementation through the inaugural Under- graduate Leadership Conference, a national leadership program for undergraduates in 1961. The conference, although beginning as a part of the Grand Chap- ter meeting program, was later adopted at the provincial level to provide broader access to more undergraduate members on an annual basis. And, follow- ing the untimely death of then Grand Polemarch Wilson in 1979, the conference was officially renamed the C. Rodger Wilson Leadership Conference in 1979.
