Maintaining your carts Taking care of your carts will help minimize odours and keep pests away. Here are three simple tips that will keep your green organic waste cart working its best: 1. Use a compostable cart liner (look for the BPI logo on the packaging) 2. Set your cart out for collection every week, even if it’s not full 3. Store your cart in a secure, cool, dry place on your property Most odour-causing waste will now go in your green organic waste cart, which is picked up weekly, reducing odours in your garbage cart. Applying for waste exemptions Norfolk County offers waste exemptions for eligible households, which may include access to a larger garbage cart or a second garbage cart. Waste exemptions are available for: • Diaper waste (households with three or more children in diapers) • Home daycare waste
