South West event. TV personality and celebrity auc- tioneer Jamie Breese launched the first Showcase event in 2014 as an annual business expo covering all sectors from across the region. Growing in popularity each year, the Showcase is now taking place twice a year at Ashton Gate sta- dium. This year the Bristol Post and Bath Chronicle have come onboard as me- dia partners to the event and Trinity Mirror regional managing director Sarah Pullen will be one of the key- note speakers at the next Showcase event in May. Sarah will be talking about the “media revolution” – addressing is- sues such as how the digital world is changing local, regional and national media consumption. She will explain how Trinity Mir- ror – the owner of the Bristol Post – has revolutionised the growth of di- gital news and media and provides more opportunities for businesses to market themselves more effectively. Sarah pioneered the transition of smaller daily newspapers switching to weekly publishing at the Bath Chronicle in 2007, ensuring the title remains a thriving champion of the city today. As managing director of Trinity Mirror South West she is leading the transformation of a multi-million pound turnover organisation from being a successful newspaper pub- lisher into a growing digital-first me- dia business. Named one of the 30 most influ- ential businesswomen in the South West, Sarah believes in opportunity

for all and plays her part mentoring the next generation of leaders. Outside of her day job, Sarah is a member of the Bristol Women's Com- mission, a Business Fellow at the University of the West of England and non-executive director at Busi- ness West. Also speaking at the event at Ash- ton Gate onMay 17 will be the young- est ever Dragons’ Den winner Jordan Daykin and 2014 winner of The Ap- prentice Mark Wright, whose digital marketing agency Climb Online re- cently opened an office in Bradley Stoke. Those visiting the free-to-attend event will also get the opportunity to take part in a broad range of work- shops and seminars, as well as ex-

ploring the stalls and displays of more than 200 exhibitors. “We’re expecting around 2,750 del- egates this year,” organiser Jamie Breese said. “And we’ve partnered with First Bus, who will provide free shuttle bus services from the city centre, Temple Meads railway sta- tion and from our car parks around the city. “The Showcase has got bigger and bigger every year, and now it’s the biggest free-to-attend business exhib- ition event in the region – it’s the go-to event for businesses each year, whether it’s to use it like one big networking event, to use it as a place to go and learn about a particular business issue through our keynote speakers and our seminars and

workshops, or a place to actually do deals. “We started in 2014 at the Colston Hall, and were lucky enough to get Karren Brady, Baroness Brady, as the keynote speaker – that was amazing and really set the benchmark. Since then we’ve gone from strength to strength and I’m confident this will be the best year yet – with both our events on May 17 and our autumn event on October 11, and with some wonderful sponsors ranging from Cabot Circus to Bristol Waste. It’s going to be amazing.” For more information about ex- hibiting in either May or October, or to book your free tickets to attend the events, visit the website at www.busi- nessshowcasesouthwest.com
