Two wins for the Glens
but I liked what I saw,” said Glens fan Jared Sinclair. “The !rst period wasn’t our best, but we blasted their goalie with like 20 shots in the second frame. My hopes are up with this team.” The Glens took the lead early on when Vankleek Hill’s own Ryan Allen, who played with the Cougars last season, scored his !rst junior B goal. But it didn’t take one minute for the Lions to orchestrate a comeback with an unas- sisted goal by Landon Veenstra. Alexandria got its lead back before the end of the !rst frame, thanks to forward Luca Ciale. In the second, the Lions mounted an early comeback but the Glens opened the "ood gates for three goals in eleven minutes by Ryan Sabourin, Gabriel Cuillerier and assis- tant Adam Cooke. With 22 shots on goal during the second period, the Glens pushed goalie John Gil- mer out of the game and welcomed Keiran Weir with more o#ensive. The third period was a little bit more on the rough side, but Alexandria was able to counter a two-goal comeback from Morris- burg with two goals of their own. The Lions scored their !fth of the game with less than a minute of play, but Callum Cassidy- Matthews stayed strong between the pipes to earn his !rst win with the Glens. Alexandria then took its winning antics on the road for a game in Williamstown, home of the Rebels. Nicholas Maheux was perfect in goal for 23 minutes for the Glens, giving his team time to get the upper hand Jean-Louis Mandel, un joueur originaire de Lefaivre, a également connu un match pro- ductif avec un but et trois passes.

in the !rst. With a 1-1 tie after 40 minutes of play, the Glens stunned the Rebels with an early goal in the third by Luca Ciale, assisted by Adam Cooke and Justin Rousseau. In desperation, the Rebels removed their goa- lie to put pressure on Alexandria’s defense with a sixth player, but the Glens didn’t buck and answered by scoring two goals in Char-Lan’s empty net. With two wins in two, Stephan Nadeau’s
crew is up to a good start. At press time Thursday, the Glens were in Casselman to clash with the Vikings, the junior B cham- pions and Don Johnson Memorial Cup win- ners.
