Moore & Giles was founded in 1933 in Lynchburg, Virginia during the heart of the Great Depression by Donald Graeme Moore. Previously a purchasing agent at the Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation, Moore lost his job in a massive layoff catalyzed by poor economic conditions. Originally a supplier of “findings”, the company sold a broad range of components

used in footwear constructions to manufacturers in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

When Donald Moore’s son-in-law, W. Vernon Giles, joined the Company in 1935 the name was changed to Moore & Giles. Donald Moore remained with Moore & Giles until his retirement in 1966 at the age of eighty-eight. In the same month that his grandfather retired, Mr. Moore’s grandson, Donald Moore Giles, joined the company. Don served Moore & Giles for over 50 years from 1966-2018.

Moore & Giles is dedicated to designing and developing the most innovative and luxurious natural leathers for the high-end hospitality, aviation and residential interior design industries. We take pride in the long-term relationships we have cultivated with fine artisan tanneries worldwide. Not only is it incredibly inspiring, but it also allows us to deliver an unparalleled array of leathers with the highest level of quality, originality and elegance. The introduction of our leather bags and accessories collection in 2007 was an additional avenue for us to showcase the beauty of our leathers. Designed in Virginia and handcrafted in very limited numbers in both the United States and Central America, this exquisite and ever-evolving collection is inspired by our travels around the world. These bags are sure to become lifelong companions, taking on a distinctive patina and wealth of charm with each use. During the last decade, we have partnered with some of the finest hotels and hospitality focused brands in the world. The following is a small capsule collection of leather goods we believe would be perfect for your property.
