Residents of Prescott-Russel may receive “Mystery House” scratch cards in the mail. The Mystery House Scratch cards will always be winners. They are part of a marke- ting scheme by an Ontario-based company. Anyone with a “winning” card who calls the telephone number provided is then asked if they are homeowners and what their occupation is. The operator will then tell the caller that “when any homeowner has a winning card, he would be guaranteed one of the six prizes” offered. The prizes listed are: a Samsung television, a Macbook Air laptop computer, B&TTP(JGU$BSE B7*11FSLT&OUFSUBJ - OFNFOUHJGUDBSE B/JOUFOEP4XJUDIDPOTPMF or a $250 Amazon gift card. The operator then tells the caller that “we send one of our technicians to the home with our master list, so that’s going to determine which prize you’ll be receiving.” The “Mystery House” card recipient is then told that the company specializes in air quality and water quality, and as the technicians visit homes to verify the card, they will also perform a “complementary water evaluation”.
