The funds are mainly used to help underprivileged students participate in summer camps, sports, dance lessons, and other extracurricular activities. The Foundation also helps with unexpected costs when families need of extra support, providing items such as eyeglasses, EpiPens, and winter clothing.

Over 160 golfers and volunteers came together for the 15th annual Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) Champions for Kids Foundation (C4K)’s golf tournament. The annual fundraiser teed off at the .JTTJTTJQQJ(PMG$MVCPO+VMZ3FHJTUSBUJPO  auction items, and a 50/50 draw raised around $45,000 for the Foundation after all was said and done. “This event is generally our biggest event of the year and after two years without the tournament, people were excited to get back on the greens and raise money for PVSTUVEFOUTJOOFFE uTBJE$BTFZ/FMTPO

Then he moved it yet again in 2021, opening a new shop in Ottawa and relocating the Hammond location to Hawkesbury. /PUPOMZEPFT7BO/PZIBWFGPOENFNP - ries of machining parts in Hawkesbury, but there are also many practitioners of the craft in the area, and it’s far enough away from Ottawa that the two locations don’t have an overlapping demographic. The Hawkesbury shop focuses on old tooling, including a working line shaft and coal-fired forges, while the Ottawa location is more modern.

A focus on turn-of-the-century smithing techniques is the main draw for this forging school. Vans School of Blacksmithing opened on June 1, welcoming students of all ages three times a week at the former Wylie Building Supply on Highway 34. There they learn turn-of-the-century smithing techniques to craft their own metalworking projects based on early 1900s techniques and tools.
