 All requests should also include a full itemized budget breakdown for the previous 3 years as well as the forecasted budget for FY19. These will be provided to you by January 10, 2018.  Requests shall be no longer than 5 pages, not including the required budget breakdown, the forecasted FY19 budget or the required cover sheet.  Completed Budget Summit PowerPoints, Budget Reports and Allocation Increase Requests are due to Linda Hoff by 5:00p.m., January 26, 2018. 1. What will the funds be used for? The funds will be used to hire additional staff to support the overall marketing efforts of the university in the following manner:  CWU website: 1 Website Director, 1 Technical Support, 1 Web Designer The #1 marketing tool for the university is the website. A dedicated website director is needed to oversee the site keeping it up-to-date. Additional technical support and web designer position are needed for maintenance.  Assistant Marketing/Communications Brand Manager The position will be responsible for streamlining all marketing, communications and all associated branding of the university within each college. All associated marketing/communications positions within the colleges will be moved to Public Affairs and report to the Brand Manager. 2. How does this use align with the University’s strategic plan? Specifically, how will these funds support one or more of CWU’s core themes? a. Teaching and Learning b. Inclusiveness and Diversity The twin themes of Inclusiveness and Diversity have been fully integrated into Public Affairs marketing and promotional efforts throughout the fiscal year. These efforts have included: news releases, marketing efforts, and advertising promoting CWU’s earning the prestigious Higher Education Excellence in Diversity award for the third time in four years; promotional efforts related to the Game On! program; creation of Avanzando and You Are Welcome Spanish-language video programs aimed at recruiting Hispanic students; actively participating in the effort to have CWU designated an Hispanic Serving  Associate Vice President Provide support to the VP and assist with management of staff.
