A proposed new residential subdivision near the hospital in Hawkesbury has a few neighbouring homeowners worried about their own property values. Council members listened to a presenta- tion March 28 about a new subdivision pro- ject, Portail du Mont Roc Gateway, proposed for a four-hectare area near the intersection of Spence Street and Cameron Street. The developer has filed a draft plan for the project, along with a stormwater management plan, and done a geotechnical investigation of the site for the proposed subdivision. Les changements apportés au plan de travaux publics de cette année pour les comtés signifient plus d’améliorations routières près du village de Plantagenet. Le conseil des Comtés-unis de Prescott- Russell (CUPR) approuve certaines révisions au plan régional des travaux publics pour cette année. Jérémie Bouchard, directeur des travaux publics du CUPR, a indiqué au conseil que le canton de Russell a confirmé son intention de reporter à l’année prochaine le projet de remplacement de l’égout pluvial de la rue Craig. Les CUPR avait alloué 1 million de dollars dans le budget 2022 comme part des com- tés pour le projet, car il s’agit d’une route de comté. M. Bouchard a fait remarquer que le report des travaux de l’égout pluvial de la rue Craig à l’année prochaine offrait la possibilité aux CUPR de répondre à d’autres besoins en matière de travaux régionaux. Le conseil des CUPR a accepté la recom- mandation de M. Bouchard de réaffecter une partie du million de dollars destiné au projet de la rue Craig au repavage du tronçon à trois voies de la route de comté 17 à l’ouest de Plantagenet. Le tronçon de la route de comté est situé à l’intersection du chemin de concession 3. Le plan de gestion des actifs des CUPR indique qu’il doit être remis en état, avec une estimation préliminaire des coûts de 500 000 $. Le personnel de M. Bouchard disposera

M. Bouchard a également fait remarquer que d’autres projets de pavage supplémentaires pourraient être envisagés cette année dans le cadre des CUPR, selon que le contrat d’approvisionnement en asphalte s’avère moins coûteux que prévu. S’il reste des fonds excédentaires dans le budget des travaux de cette année après l’attribution du contrat d’approvisionnement en asphalte, il se peut que le service des travaux publics présente un autre rapport en juin recommandant d’autres ajouts au calendrier des travaux de 2022.
