Nats holding their own in the standings

squabbling over who will hold onto the ove- rall lead in the league while Rockland and Vankleek Hill vie to knock each other out of the running for the third-place spot before the end of the year. The Cougars have an 11-6 win-loss record so far for their season while the Nats have 10 wins, six losses, and two tie games for their play record. Sunday’s home game over the Nov. 28 weekend was a win for the Nats as they grounded the St-Isidore Aigles 6-2 with a pair of goals from Matthew Clifford, who also assisted on one of the solo goals. Sco- ring single points for Rockland were Jeff Brett, Patrick Johnson, Garrett Reed, and Nickolas Spirito. Also helping out with as- sists were Brett, Johnson, Paul Armstrong, Brandon Cameron, Miguel Crispin, Ryan Down, Vincent Martel, and Raphael Payant. Jonathan Cameron defended the Rockland net for the entire game. Scoring for the Aigles on Sunday were Mikael Grenier and Pier-Luc Viau with Jacob Bélanger andNicolas Pharand providing goal assists. Netminding were shared between Miguel Laroche and Sean Villeneuve. The Nats are in Chesterville Friday against the North Dundas Rockets. They return home Sunday to the Clarence-Rockland Arena for an afternoonmatch against l’Aca- démie Jr. Outaouais.

Colts beat Rangers The Cornwall Colts rode away with a 4-2 over the Gloucester Rangers in the Nov. 27 CCHL home game at the Cla- rence-Rockland Arena. Scoring for the Colts were JeremyMcFarlane, Grant Coo- per, KeeganMulhearn, and Nick Lalonde. Rangers goals came from Vincent Gui- mond and Salim MahipBeaudry. Next Rockland game for the Rangers is Dec. 18 against the Ottawa Jr. Senators. With the Christmas break coming up soon, the RocklandNationals are sitting in a com- fortable place so far in the standings of the National Capital Junior Hockey League. As of the last November weekend, the NCJHL standings show the Nats in second place in the league’s North Division with 22 points after 18 games. That puts them behind the Papineauville Vikings, which have 31 points with 17 games played so far. In the SouthDivision, the Embrun Panthers are leading with 30 points after 18 games, followed by the Vankleek Hill Cougars with 22 points like Rockland after 17 games. That leaves the Vikings and the Panthers

All bets are off when the Freak Nation tag-teamduo is in the ring. Pro wrestling fans in Clarence-Rockland got their fill of grunts, groans, and general mayhem Friday night at the Jean-Marc Lalonde Arena when GNWWrestling came to town, bringing a lineup of good guys, bad guys, hometown heroes, and one legendary headliner from the WWE in the person of Bushwhacker Luke.
